About me.......
My life has experienced its share of twists and turns, tragedies and successes. Mostly good; some, not so much. I suppose, in retrospect, I’ve learned to savor the good and learn from the not-so-good. Hopefully that has made me a better, more caring and respectful man. And trust me, carpe diem is my mantra.
Whether watching a sunset or gazing at the stars in awe, or seizing the day with an adventure on my Harley in Reno, or just finishing a local trout stream and breathing in the majesty of nature, I don’t take much for granted.
I’m an honest and forthright man. Sure – every guy might toss those characteristics into your lap to curry your favor, but I have always believed that when sincerity, loyalty and veracity are in a relationship, other virtues will follow. That’s a good thing, and makes for a vibrant relationship.
Of course, it takes two to thrive in a relationship, and obviously by my using this medium to meet a special person. I have yet to find a partner that fits my life like the last piece to a puzzle. I think we all look for such a kindred spirit and connection. I sure hope to find mine.
It’s difficult, and I’m sure you’d agree, to avoid self-promotion through a profile. I’m a really positive guy. I have learned that the measure of a person is not during times of plenty, but when staring at the face of adversity. I’d like to think I’ve grown up in life’s “School of Hard Knocks” and graduated with honors. At the end of the day, or one’s life, what we label as “failure” is not falling down, it’s the staying down. I’m pretty resilient and I don’t stay down for long…..
What does the above mean, simplified: I’m a direct and straight shooter. I embrace humor and adventure. I’m not idle and I steer towards activities, whether physical fitness, or hiking and camping and fishing and hunting. I love ATV’n; Snowmobiling is a passion; I’m a diehard Mariner and Seahawk fan (Yes, 101 losses for the Mariners and only 4 wins for the Seahawks, and I’m still a season ticket holder – but I can’t be hypocritical of my “loyalty” speech).
A lazy Sunday morning wrapped in soft cozy blankets in the comfort and security of your significant other, enjoying a dinner cooked together and laughter throughout, doesn’t sound too bad either.
What would complete me is a best friend and lover, confident and confider, fellow adventurer and thrill seeker.
For fun I like Hiking – from exploring scenic trails to arduous day hikes; firing up the Harley on a beautiful warm summer day or night; camping (sometimes it’s fun to get “adventurous” in the outdoors); weekend getaways; and, taking my dog to the beach and/or park.
My absolute favorite vacations were (are) to the Bahamas, to Mexico, and Hawaii. But, I love to travel by cruise, sooo relaxing. Closer to home, you can find me on the beach or hiking with my dog or at home with a good movie and a BBQ.
My favorite things are romantic baths with bubbles and candles; the electricity at Safeco Field watching the Mariners, or the deafening rumble when the Seahawks play at home; cuddling while watching a good movie with popcorn; and, an intellectual conversation over dinner.
The last book(s) I have read are Wild at Heart, The Five Love Languages of Children, and Hiking the Great N.W. with your Pooch.
For the last 20-years, I have worked in the flooring & remodeling business where I have turned people’s houses into their dream homes.
