I’m sociable, kind-hearted and love adventure! I also consider myself to be something of an epicurean with a particular like of red wine and the finer things in life ~ and enjoy cooking and hosting dinner parties with friends.

Professionally, I have a masters’ degree in engineering, project management and procurement and have worked at sea in the Royal Navy as an officer and then in the shipping and oil & gas industries ~ so have travelled extensively on an international basis and really enjoy exploring and meeting people from different cultures. I now have my own commercial consultancy and am just starting a media business with two partners so my work life is fairly busy!

Outside of work, my likes include fine dining, log fires, country pubs and nights in watching a good film. I’m lucky enough to live in the country and so enjoy nature and country pursuits in general ~ and have a particular like of mountain walking and the sense of freedom which comes with being in the outdoors miles away from anywhere. My other sporting interests include skiing, tennis, squash, running and distance swimming ~ and occasionally scuba and sailing.

On the cultural side, I like visiting historic houses and the theatre and ballet on a fairly regular basis. I also enjoy music very much ~ classical in particular ~ and play the flute (badly) and am currently learning to play the piano, which is great fun!

So what am I looking for? Hopefully a soulmate who believes also in living life to the full and wants to share and enjoy at least some of the things above.
