I seek a gold digger, with whom I will be totally devoted to, and who I want to be totally devoted to me.
Let’s reason together. It is not a secret that Ukraine is a corrupt country. The oligarchs have most of the money and control everything. Most peasants live paycheck to paycheck. Is there a Ukrainian dream, like in America, for a good paying job with the goal of acquiring a good family, a nice house with a white-picket fence? Do you have this already? It has been estimated that it will take a trillion dollars to rebuild Ukraine after the war. Will the rebuilding make Ukraine better than it was before or build back the way it used to be? If you are satisfied with all that, why are you on this dating site?
At the time of the gold rush, California was perceived as a place of new beginnings (is that something you might be looking for?), where great wealth could reward hard work and good luck. (I don’t believe in luck, but I work hard and am looking for someone who can do the same) Historian H. W. Brands noted that in the years after the Gold Rush, the California Dream spread across the nation: The old American Dream ... was the dream of the Puritans, of Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard"... of men and women content to accumulate their modest fortunes a little at a time, year by year by year (Is that how you will create yours, or do you take the road less-traveled? That is how I created my modest fortune which I want to share with you). The new dream was the dream of instant wealth, won in a twinkling by audacity and good luck.
In what has been referred to as the "first world-class gold rush," there was no easy way to get to California; forty-niners faced hardship and often death on the way, depending on which route they took. From the East Coast, a sailing voyage around the tip of South America would take four to five months, and cover approximately 18,000 nautical miles. Others from the East Coast negotiated a crossing of the Appalachian Mountains, taking to riverboats in Pennsylvania, poling the keelboats to Missouri River wagon train assembly ports, and then travelling in a wagon train along the California Trail. Many others came by way of the Isthmus of Panama and the steamships of the Pacific Mail Steamship Company. Each of these routes had its own deadly hazards, from shipwreck to typhoid fever and cholera and took many months. Travel is much easier today. These “Niners” all had one thing in common…they were rugged individualists, who could take a punch, get up and keep going. Now that is my kind of woman. Is that you?
Not all “Forty-niners”, (referring to 1849, the peak year for Gold Rush immigration) made their fortune in prospecting gold. Some were businessman who went on to great success such as Levi Strauss, who first began selling denim overalls in San Francisco in 1853. So you and me, together, can prospect for our fortune since it is always better with two rather than seeking alone. The dream of every gold digger was to obtain a better life than what they had been living. Rushing after the gold is not a short-term investment nor is it easy, so if you want the “easy way” just stay the way you are and live the way you have always lived. This letter is not for you.

If that is you, write me a letter entitled “I’m coming.” With every letter tell me how far you have come. Once in America, we can begin our journey together. The mindset of a gold digger was “Whatever it takes”. If you have to borrow money for a boat ride or a plane flight, I’ll give you cash upon your arrival, as long as it is not first-class, to pay back who you borrowed from. If I do not meet your expectations, I’ll buy you a plane trip back to Ukraine.
